Kaashidhoo Island Resort

As of June 2025, there is no operational resort named "Kaashidhoo Island Resort" in Kaashidhoo, Maldives. The government has invited bids for developing a 100-bed resort on a 10-hectare reclaimed island in the Kaashidhoo lagoon. Currently, Kaashidhoo Island offers guesthouse accommodations such as Palmrest Kaashidhoo, which provides modern rooms with private balconies, fully equipped kitchens, and access to a private beach. The island is renowned for its lush vegetation, agricultural significance, and historical sites including the ancient Buddhist monastery complex Kuruhinna Tharaagandu.
Access to Kaashidhoo is typically via public ferry or speedboat from Malé, with ferry transfers taking around 5 hours and speedboats approximately 2.5 hours depending on sea conditions. The island caters to travelers seeking an authentic Maldivian experience, ideal for families, solo travelers, and cultural enthusiasts. Dining options focus on local Maldivian cuisine prepared from fresh, locally sourced ingredients by guesthouses. Activities include snorkeling, diving, fishing, island farming tours, and visits to historical sites, blending adventure with cultural immersion.
